Infertility is more common than many people realize.  It affects up to 1 in 6 couples in Canada.

The global definition of infertility stands as one year of appropriately timed intercourse with failed conception.

Under 38 years of age, that definition will apply. 38 to 40 years of age, you may collapse it to about 8-9 months. 40 years of age and above, you may collapse it to about 6 months appropriately timed unprotected intercourse.
